Hi Ron, unfortunately, I never felt the need to write a manual because Artemis usage is really simple (the available options are limited to few choices)…it’s like a big list of signals and to help the recognition of a particular one I’ve implemented some filters based on the most commonly used parameters such as frequency, bandwidth, transmission type, modulation, etc…but, of course, if you have something particular in mind, feel free to ask ;)

    Hi Chris,
I have already heard about antivirus false positive problems…I don’t know the exact reason related to this issue. If you are not sure feel free to try several multiple scanning services (here we go, some fresh results: https://www.virustotal.com/file/3f287954f5eaba4a1d0dc015b1d80df941210a4dcdce76262ff8145a98b0fb75/analysis/1489266480/).
My suggestion to solve this anomaly is to add a folder/file exception in your antivirus settings (some useful hint: http://www.getavast.net/support/managing-exceptions)
By the way, I’m working on a new version of Artemis to solve some troubles related to wrong DPI/resolution recognition…windows form upscale and downscale is a tricky task sometimes…

First of all: Thanks a lot Dian for your fast reply!
Hi Joop, some time ago on rtl-sdr.com, Henk posted (same day as your post. Coincidences?) similar problems related to website corruptions, spam, and so on…I simply copy my sdr-rtl.com reply message:
The site isn’t corrupt; you simply clicked (by mistake, I suppose) on some advertising. I have added to my website the instructions to correctly download Artemis (and all other stuff on markslab.tk) with some additional info about why I’m using redirect link services (Adf.ly). I’m sorry if you have encountered this kind of issues but I’m trying to keep Artemis free of charge (unfortunately, website server cost me money…) . Please, If you have other questions feel free to post your doubt.

Last but not least, to KC0SHO: thank you a lot. I’m really happy when other people are grateful. Your support is priceless!

    Hi Henk,
thanks a lot for your report and sorry for the DB annoying issue. The problem was due to an unplanned database upgrade (now, version 32 with 283 signals record, is fully operative ). Please, try again and let me know, problems should be fixed now.

Whoa!!!It seem that will be an excelent benchmark for my DB parser. New version is almost ready and in 1.5-2 hours i’ll upload the new version on site. Since i’ve not found another way to contact you in private i’m asking here: saw the huge effort and work you’ve put to update the database, can i add your name in credit section of Artemis with a link of your user page (http://www.sigidwiki.com/wiki/User:Cartoonman)?

    Hi Dian,
Sorry for my absence, i’ve been away for a while. Few days ago i saw that sigidwiki is no more in “work in progress” status, so i’ve decided to rebuild from scratch main Artemis DB generator. Thanks to you and Carl, now sigidwiki.com has a completely renewed design and a lot more signals (with a huge work of optimization to old ones). I’m still working but in a few days (as soon as i can) i’ll upload new version of database generated from current sigidwiki.com site.

    Hi Srini,
thanks for your report. In this moment sigidwiki.com (Artemis official archive) is under constant upgrading. When all updates will be applied, i’ll contact sigidwiki admin for you. In a few days your record will be uploaded in unknown signals section.
    Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Carl for keeping up to date your site. Now I highlight your post so that it has better visibility to users.

Your suggestion is one of the solutions. Your option will work very well with Artemis data extractor because, at moment, Artemis database forms accept only maximum 2 values for frequency (upper limit and lower limit) and 2 values for bandwidth (upper and lower limit). One big problem is focused on sigidwiki freq. and band. forms: perfect solution should be to restrict those 2 fields with only 2 numbers each. One example could be APT transmissions: MIN FREQ: 136 MHz / MAX FREQ: 138 MHz – BW: 30KHz. If anyone edit frequency form with “HF Band” term, main table on sigidwiki show a blank form and this is converted in data extraction with “Undefined” value.
User Cartoonman has done an outstanding job in the last few days about updates to sigidwiki. I’ll try to invite him on the forum to discuss about this problem.
